Coronavirus (COVID-19) Prevention/Safety Signage

Coronavirus <span>(COVID-19) Prevention/Safety Signage</span>

While most of our SpeedPro directional signage options accomplish the same essential function — instructing guests where to go next — the implications of the COVID-19 outbreak may force you to adjust your business models and provide additional guidance to your employees and guests.  These four sign categories each serve a specific purpose but can be combined to create an environment that helps employees and  guests navigate your space efficiently and safely.

Curb-Side/Delivery Pickup Signage

The coronavirus outbreak is severely impacting businesses all across the country with many businesses being forced to close by government directive.   However, many businesses remain open or have adjusted service and delivery capabilities.    During these uncertain times, it is a good idea to let people know you are still open and complying with local governmental guidelines. Whether you are a hospital, bank or grocery store, or any business who is considered essential and can stay open – communication is key.  If you are a restaurant or other essential business, temporary outdoor signs, A-Frames and banners are a great tool to let people know you are open.

Safety Signage

Given the new normal we are all operating in, it is not a bad idea to gently remind one another of some basic steps we can take to protect our clients, employees, and ourselves. We have placed signage throughout our own facility to communicate CDC guidance on how to prevent germ spread. Since the material we use has no adhesive, it is particularly suitable for use on glass, mirror, or cabinet surfaces. Easy to install and easier to remove.

Floor Graphics and Social Distancing Signage

“Social Distancing” is a public health practice that aims to prevent sick people from coming in close contact with healthy people in order to reduce opportunities for disease and germ transmission. With respect to the Coronavirus, the goal of social distancing is to slow down the outbreak in order to reduce the chance of infection among populations who are at a higher risk for contracting the disease AND to reduce the burden on health care systems and workers.  Experts describe this as “flattening the curve,” which generally refers to the potential success of social distancing measures to prevent surges in illness that could overwhelm health care systems.

The CDC offers more details on which populations face greater risks, and specific cautionary measures they should take.  One  specific guideline suggests that an individual should maintain a distance of approximately 6 feet (or 2 meters) from others when possible.  Floor Graphics are a great way to make it easier for people to navigate through your building while maintaining that distance from other.  Speedpro can provide you graphics that are suitable for either indoor or outdoor use.

Compliance Signage

You may not know that, effective April 1, there is a new Families First Coronavirus Response Act Notice poster that needs to be posted in your workplace. You can download the poster from the Department of Labor website and there is also a section of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and answers that you may want to review. If you need a poster that is larger than you can print yourself Speedpro can help you.

What Are the Benefits of Taking Action Now?

Use directional signs to attract attention and draw potential guests into your business or restaurant.  Use informational signs to show your guests and employees that you care about their safety.  When implemented with care, your signage solution during this unique time will:

  • Point your guests in the right direction: Unless your customers are already committed to your brand, they won’t search high and low for long before giving up on finding your store. Directional signage provides a clear guide, pointing customers toward the parking lot, entrance, hallway or even the employees they need. Eliminate the guesswork by helping your customers navigate a new space.
  • Welcome and Reassure your guests with instant feedback: Strategically placed directional signage brings the guest into your space in a friendly manner. Don’t leave your guests wondering if they’re in the right place or where to go next. Reassure them that you care and have their safety top of mind.  Leave a lasting positive impression by eliminating your guest’s questions before they even come up.
  • Strengthen your brand: Expand your name and brand recognition by strategically placing directional signs in visible areas, not just inside your space but in the building, street or perhaps even further out. Permanent signs keep your brand visible long-term while you can swap out temporary signage to promote the latest products or deals.
