With UV direct printing, the ink is cured with a light instead of heat, so it dries instantly as it’s printing. Turnaround time is shortened in many cases. The inks are colorfast, scratch resistant and waterproof. Because we can print on many different substrates, the durability of your sign now depends on the durability of the substrate, not the printing.
There are two ways to transfer an image onto a Substrate. The first option is to directly print onto your substrate. Our UV cure, flatbed printer prints directly onto wood, acrylic, PVC, aluminum, ABS, polycarbonate, glass, stainless steel and much more. The second option is to print and mount onto a substrate. To achieve this, the chosen image must be printed onto an adhesive vinyl and then mounted onto the chosen substrate.

We can run almost any kind of smooth, flat substrate up to 2 inches thick and a maximum of 5 feet by 10 feet through the UV Printer. Direct Printing typically costs less than other options like screen printing, or printing on vinyl and laminating it to a substrate. Flatbed printing runs everything through on one pass and you have the added flexibility of being able to print photos and complex graphics at the same time. The quality and presentation of this substrate direct print system is a must for POP displays, foam-backed displays and many other products.
Flatbed printing offers many benefits
Environmentally Friendly – The inks we use do not contain as many of the solvents that other some conventional large format printing methods use. Nearly all the ink is consumed by the printing process, so waste is greatly minimized. Thanks to its excellent adhesion to most smooth surfaces, we can print on any number of an ever-expanding selection of eco-friendly materials. Direct printing eliminates the use of vinyl media, adhesives, or additional laminating films. By eliminating these materials and heavy solvent inks, that means there is far less going into our landfills or atmosphere.
Fast – The elimination of process steps, complemented with the SpeedPro NW Raleigh production system, allows us to provide fast turnaround on stocked substrates.
Quality – Our flat bed printer prints in the full CMYK color space offering excellent resolution for displays.
