A Salute to Veterans This 4th of July
JULY 2, 2020| SpeedPro of Scottsdale
Independence Day will be here in a few days. Typically, Americans enjoy BBQs with family, a relaxed day and maybe a drive to see colorful fireworks. It is easy to focus on the fact that it is a holiday from work rather than the fact that we celebrate a hard-fought independence won more than two hundred years ago.
We at SpeedPro Scottsdale want to honor all Americans who have served, past and present. We (Ann and Borg) are veterans ourselves, having each started our working careers as Army lieutenants, stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. (Trivia…we met there and the rest as they say, is history.)
In our family, a grandfather served in early 1900 on a Navy ship; one father served as a young man in WWII and the other served in the Air Force in Vietnam. A brother and sister-in-law have served as a Navy doctor and Army nurse.
Both sides of our family have been blessed to have all members return home safely after service. For all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and for their families that continued to grieve them, we want to now pay tribute to them. They gave their lives so that we in America might have freedom.
We have been privileged over the years to work with various organizations that are either veteran owned or support them: Honor Walk, Association of the U.S. Army, AZ Veteran’s Hall of Fame, S.E.E. 4 Vets, and Unified Arizona Veterans. If you have a veteran based organization, it would be our pleasure to help you as well, whether for graphics or simply to pass on information about your business.
To all Veterans, thank you. Your service, along with that of servicemen and servicewomen throughout history, combine to form the fabric of what we know as freedom today. We salute you.
To fellow business owners, enjoy your 4th of July weekend and best wishes to you as we all steer our businesses through this pandemic.
