One of the easiest and most cost efficient ways to protect the environment is the use of LED lights, primarily used in any backlit or illuminated signs. Just as turning off a light when you leave a room saves electricity, so does using long lasting LED lights. When compared to regular lights, LEDs are more energy-efficient, meaning less energy is used to power any sign illuminated with LEDs. LED bulbs use at least 75% less energy than incandescent lighting and lasts around 25 times longer. Because they last longer, less waste is produced, a very environmentally-friendly step. Eco-friendly alternative substrates are materials that have been proven to have a lower environmental impact and are reusable and recyclable at higher amounts further reducing waste. These include:

Enviroboard® MR (Moisture Resistant) is an exceptional multi-ply, water-resistant, green alternative to corrugated plastic boards and foam board. It can be used as a direct print to substrate or as mounting substrate. SpeedPro uses this substrate to create indoor Point of Purchase (POP) displays and hanging and upright signs. Enviroboard® MR is 100% recyclable and made of 10% PCW (post-consumer waste).

Falconboard signs are a rigid paper-based substrate that functions like heavy-duty foamboards, similar to Ultraboard Gatorboard, except the foam has been replaced with a honeycomb core of kraft board. This improvement creates a cost-effective green solution for mounting applications and an aesthetically pleasing funky “cut corrugated box” look of open-cell sides. Falconboard is lightweight, has cost-effective pricing, high rigidity and is 100% recyclable. Falconboard creates a cost-effective environmentally-friendly solution for graphic applications and is certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) to be recyclable with corrugated waste and is in fact made with SFI certified, renewable virgin, all-natural and post-consumer recycled fibers.

ConVerd Board is a rigid, fiber-based, recyclable alternative for structural signage applications that is a green alternative to PVC and styrene-based boards. It is 100% recyclable and uses 10% post-consumer waste.
