What is a Vehicle Wrap, and is it Worth the Cost?DECEMBER 9, 2019| SpeedPro NW Raleigh
Vehicle graphics efficiently make the most of your advertising dollars. The result is direct sales. A professionally wrapped car or van makes the smallest company look as substantial as any competitor.
Is a vehicle wrap worth the cost?
Yes, yes, YES. Vehicle graphics can turn your product into your best marketing tool by expanding your message. They can be used anywhere to quickly deliver key messages! An Arbitron Study on Outdoor American Advertising has shown vehicle advertising to be one of the most cost-effective means of reaching your customers. A typical vehicle will generate 30,000 to 70,000 impressions every single day.
Here’s how that works out on a cost basis. That study showed the relative cost per 1000 impressions for various advertising media:
- Prime time TV Spot: $20.54
- Newspaper 1⁄4 Page: $11.66
- Prime time Cable TV: $11.31
- Radio (60 sec AM Drive): $5.92
- Billboards: $1.78
- Wrapped Vehicle Ad: $0.70
Why is it so cost effective? Your vehicle ad works for 365 days per year for 3-5 years, with a one-time, up‐front cost.
So, what is a vehicle wrap?
A vehicle wrap consists of a design that is developed, printed on special vinyl film, and laminated. The laminate protects the printed graphic and adds the gloss (matte or luster) sheen desired. Then it is installed, or “wrapped,” on a vehicle. The vinyl is applied directly over the original paint of the vehicle, and it actually helps protect the paint.
A quality wrap is easily removed, even after several years, to return the vehicle to its original condition. A word of warning, not all wrap materials come off easily. A low-cost wrap can cost you when it comes time to remove it.
