Giant Wall Graphics Make Big Impact

When electric bus manufacturer Proterra need huge wall graphics for their new west coast headquarters in Silicon Valley area of California, they turned to SpeedPro of SF Peninsula. The SpeedPro team had worked with members of Proterra’s staff and top management at previous companies companies, so there was a trusted track record on a variety of challenging projects.  And this one was going to be a challenging project, for sure.

Grand Opening for California Headquarters

There was limited time before a grand opening event that was timed to coincide with an industry event for metro transit managers and bus fleet managers, and would include local politicians, press, and invited guests.

As a new facility with offices and a large warehouse area with part of it doubling as a showroom, SpeedPro had to be scheduled in with electricians, painters, carpet installers, movers, and other  tradesmen, and as plans evolved, so did some of the designs. Change is a reality in almost all construction or remodeling projects. So adaptability to revisions is part of our operational DNA at SpeedPro.

An Environment to Excite and Educate

In the end, SpeedPro provided interior and exterior window and wall signage, contour cut frosted window vinyl for the front entry and custom printed wall murals ranging from 10 feet wide by 8.5 feet tall up to 32 feet wide x 19 feet high.  We also created a contour cut map of the USA, with dimensional location markers to show where Proterra has secured deals using their electric buses in transit systems.  The markers were printed on our HP Scitex FB flatbed printer and cut on our ESKO Kongsberg cutting system…check out the video!  The map, large bus photos and “circuit” style transit map were both printed on a coated fabric material with adhesive backing

Another wall features cut graphics applied to a dark gray painted wall with a “word cloud” design featuring Proterra’s numerous patents in this technologically competitive area.  These were printed and contour cut on 3M’s Envision 480 media, their top of the line and most environmentally friendly cast print for wall and vehicle graphics.

Proterra’s team understands the impact that super-size, high quality graphics can provide to tell their story and convey the excitement needed for customers to emotionally connect with their brand and mission.  In addition to these facility graphics, SpeedPro of SF Peninsula has worked with Proterra on a variety of marketing pieces including trade show and event properties.
