Thanksgiving is a time for families to come together and to give back. Here are a few ways you can make sure to do your part this holiday season.

Volunteer

Give back to others who may need a little extra help. There are many different ways to do so. A good place to find the right fit for you is volunteermatch.com. They have different categorizes and locations to help you decide what will inspire you to do your best. From helping children to looking over a teenager’s resume, and also helping restock books at your local library, you can find it all on this website. If there is an organization you are curious about or have always been interested in the work they provide, it never hurts to reach out directly to them. Volunteer work is hard to find sometimes so doing your part to reach out will benefit all parties. It may even lead to new connections and open your eyes to try new paths. If you want to get those around you connected, looking official will help you attract volunteers. We can help you create banners, table runners, retractables, and backdrops. These are all marketing tools that can further promote the charitable work you and your organization provide.

Share the Love

Spread kindness and help pay it forward. Simple and random acts of kindness can change a person’s life. Create an experience that will leave them in shock. With so much hate and destruction plaguing the world, taking time to make a simple act shine through the dark times can give other’s hope. It may even inspire them to do the same to a complete stranger. Some ways to do this can be paying for a person’s order in line behind you at Starbucks or any fast food business. Orders are usually small in size and price so it won’t be too hard to handle.  You can help with yard work for your neighbors by shoveling their driveway or raking leaves. Lending a hand to those who may not have the time or energy to do these tasks leave the homeowners feeling grateful for people such as yourself.

Give Back to Different Communities

A popular tradition during this time of year is to work at a thanksgiving dinner event. Preparing food and handing it out to those in need on the holiday is a selfless way to give back. They usually happen at churches but are not exclusively put on by them. If you want to take matters into your own hands, packing meals and passing them out with a group of your friends can be an easy way to work with your schedule. You can also create a food package of all thanksgiving tradition meals such as turkey, potatoes, gravy and so on and deliver it to families in need. Get creative and figure out what works for you and your budget. It can help you decide between donating your money, time, or a little bit of both. Here at SpeedPro East Bay, 5% of our profits are given back to the community. We believe that it is important to maintain these values and continue to spread them to those around.
