GRAPHIC INSTALLATION

SpeedPro East Bay is your one-stop shop for wide-format printing. We don’t just help with the printing, we help with the graphic installation as well. Often times, print shops or online providers can provide the graphics, however, when it comes to the installation you’re on your own. We want to support you with your project from start to finish. Our expert installers are the best in the Bay Area and they’ll show up ready and willing to complete the job thoroughly and quickly each time. If you haven’t used our graphic installation services before, you may be curious about how the process works. Here are some frequently asked questions that can help better understand the process:

Where do I start and how do I schedule the installation?

SpeedPro East Bay understands that you have a very busy schedule and we want to be complimentary to that. We’ll make sure that we work around your schedule and not the other way around. There could be a very rare case where the installer is already booked that day, however, we are super flexible. If you want to schedule an installation for a smaller project such as cut vinyl lettering to a window, wall, car, or boat, our booking is less than one week out. If you’re looking for a full vehicle wrap or wall mural, we could be looking at a week or two but generally the timeline is shorter.

Do I need to do anything before the installation?

Every project is different so depending on what we’re installing, the prepping process can be different. If we’re installing window graphics, you won’t need to power wash them, but you’ll want to make sure they’re free from any excess dirt. If we’re installing a vehicle wrap, we simply request that you bring in a clean vehicle. We will wipe down the vehicle when it arrives, but we won’t do a full wash. If we’re doing boat lettering, you’ll want to be sure to not wax the boat prior. For wall murals, no extra attention is required as long as the wall has proper paint finishing.

How long does an installation typically take?

This timeline can vary depending on how big or small a project is. Installation times can range anywhere from 1 hour to several hours, and sometimes a full day. If we’re doing a color change vehicle wrap or fleet wraps, this could sometimes take a few days. We always work in a timely manner though and we’ll communicate with you beforehand on your specific project, what timeline we’re looking at.

Can you install at night or over the weekend?

Yes! Our installers are here to serve you so if the installation site won’t be available during the week, we’ll make it happen on the weekend. As we mentioned, our installation team is very flexible so with enough lead time we can get this locked in. Night and weekend installs could potentially cost a bit more than a standard business day install but it also depends on the project.

Will the install disrupt our work environment?

If you’re thinking that the installation will disrupt the work environment and therefore contemplating doing it on the weekend, the simple answer is don’t worry. We understand that your workplace is professional and your reputation is very important to us. Our installers also understand this and we don’t want you to have to put work or your installation on hold. Considering all of this, our installation team uses freight elevators when possible, they bring all of their own tools and hardware including ladders, and they leave the environment clean. While the installation is in progress, our installers are quiet not to disrupt your employees. They are also very professional at all times and are friendly. If you have any questions while they’re on-site, they will be happy to answer.

What can you install?

Our network of installers allows us to have a broader range of types of installations that we can do. Our specialty is adhesive vinyl installations ranging from wall murals and vehicle wraps to window graphics and floor wraps. We also have installers that specialize in smaller installs like boat lettering, dimensional lettering, fabricated signage, and decals. There are some limitations to our fabricated signage installs. Currently, we are not licensed to install signs and we do not install hardware. However, we are happy to still provide electrical signs and signs that go with hardware. If you think your job may fall into the category of a job that we can’t do, please reach out to us first and we’re happy to discuss or give you a great recommendation.

Does the wall need to have a level 5 finish?

Walls do not need to have a level 5 finish to install a beautiful wall mural. If the wall is in good condition with no damage including chipping paint, excessive hardware, or holes, we will be able to complete the installation no problem. We’ll also want to make sure that the wall has the proper finishing meaning that the paint has been on the wall for at least 2 weeks. This will help to ensure that vinyl will stay applied to the wall.

Will the paint come off if we remove a wall mural or car wrap?

Most commonly, the answer is no. We have removed full wraps from vehicles that have been there for decades. Yes, it can be especially difficult to remove, however, the surface of the vehicle does not get damaged. Walls can be different depending on the paint surface. If we use a temporary wall material, it can last up to 1 year without damaging the paint.
